REDO REVAMP: KEEPVAKOZY
This project started back during my sophomore year. It was a group thrifting project called “The Redo” where five of us went to thrift stores around Richmond, found pieces of clothing and upcycled them into new pieces. That same year, three of us from the group talked about how we should continue this project, so that’s what we did but added a twist to it. Fast forward to our senior year, we are continuing the project, now with each of us having our own mini collection involving our separate interests. Since freshman year, I’ve been interested in streetwear clothing and over quarantine I also became fascinated with tufting rugs. So, I decided to come up with my own streetwear brand and incorporate tufting into it. Each piece of upcycled clothing that has a logo on it, that logo is made of yarn using the punch needle method. During this project I challenged myself to use different mediums, software I wouldn’t normally use, and try new methods I wasn’t familiar with to help me grow as a graphic designer.
